LUMBERTON, NJ - Station 139 is proud to announce the successful completion of the NJ State EMT program by 4 of it's newest members. All of the students are probationary members who joined within the last 12 months and have been active members of LES, learning their skills and their way around the ambulance by riding along with crews and practicing at the station.
The course, administered by the NJ Dept of Health, encompasses 180 hours of classroom and practical instruction time along with over 20 hours of clinical training in a healthcare setting, and covers a wide variety of medical emergencies including cardiac/respiratory, trauma, pediatrics, childbirth, infection control, hazardous materials and mass care. Completion of the training course is followed by a state-admininstered exam based on a national curriculum which is practiced across the U.S.
The LES students all successfully completed their courses on the first try, and graduated recently with certificates from the NJDOH. They are now qualified to participate as a full member of the ambulance crew and administer direct patient care.
LES wishes to congradulate the following successful candidates:
- Eric Brown, EMT
- Andrea Lemyre. EMT
- Sherri Robertson, EMT
